Justice Distribution Center

Location: New Albany, Ohio

Size: 473,000 SF

The Justice Distribution Center was the first major tenant in the Etna Business Park located approximately 20 miles east of Columbus, Ohio.

The initial construction included 48,000 sq. ft. of office space and 425,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space for the specialty retailer of apparel for girls and young women. The program of requirements included a full-service kitchen and cafeteria with an exterior seating area, a workout room with exercise equipment and locker facilities, and expansion space for a future call center.

Extensive coordination between the Materials Handling Systems designer and the Architectural/Engineering Team was required to integrate the multi-level, highly automated system into the structure. Provisions to the building systems were made to allow for storage of alcohol based, flammable liquid products, unseparated, within a moderate hazard storage warehouse.

The building was constructed of cost-effective, pre-cast, insulated concrete wall panels, with a structural steel building frame and roof. Large punched openings were provided in the panels for windows to allow natural lighting into the warehouse and office areas.
