LEONARD WHITLEY

 

Leonard is a senior member of Acock Associates. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University.

Leonard joined Acock Associates after a 25-year career in the construction industry where he worked for 5 years as a commercial carpenter, superintendent, and project manager, and 20 years as Vice President of Operations for a successful central Ohio general contracting business.

This field experience brings a valuable, builder’s perspective to the design and completion of the building process. Leonard’s key roles include authoring project specifications, buildability review, and as lead construction administrator.

Leonard has been the construction administrator for major projects at The Ohio State University, including Pomerene Hall, Oxley Hall, 18th Avenue Library, and the Residences on 10th student housing project.

Leonard is currently managing the multiphase renovation of the North High Complex for the State of Ohio’s Department of Administrative Services.  This $100M project spans 10 years and includes planning and logistics for multiple moves that require complex coordination.

Leonard is a family man.  After hours, you will find him involved in a variety of activities with his wife and two grown children.
