This seven-story office building is the centerpiece in the skyline that frames the south edge of McFerson Commons Park, a rare green space in the heart of the Arena District, Columbus, Ohio. Acock Associates’ role was to design a functional and flexible core and shell building that would maximize views of the park for prime and future office tenants.
Stained natural woods, custom lighting, and silver gilding at the elliptical ceiling give a sophisticated look and feel to the lobby, which opens out onto the park.
The prime tenant at the top floor has an exterior terrace overlooking the park with views to downtown and Columbus’ magnificent Red White and Boom holiday event every July 4th.
The building integrates into an attached subterranean garage and adjacent multi-floor parking deck. It is a contextual mix of curtainwall glazing, hand moulded brick, and limestone. Cut limestone is the dominant material at ground level.
