The addition of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at the Grandview Yard provides the lodging capacity needed to properly support the Grand Event Center, restaurants and other mixed uses within the development.  Courtyard provides 134 guestrooms, common spaces, conference rooms and an interior swimming pool.

As other national chains, Marriott brought its own branding requirements.  These requirements often did not align with the architectural vision of the Grandview Yard.  Acock was responsible for developing an architectural expression that satisfied both of its clients. Pleasant outcomes from the customization include suites with walk out balconies that have views to the Columbus downtown skyline.

The building’s exterior consists of a mix of horizontal metal siding and handmoulded brick veneer. A true 360-degree building, there is no rear façade to the building to hide services. The entry is opposite to Goodale Blvd, the primary road at the south boundary of the Yard development.

Courtyard by Marriott creates its namesake by developing an exterior court between the hotel and the adjacent Grand Event Center.  This adjacency has proved to be mutually beneficial and very desirable for customers considering weddings and special events.
