Mitch is the Managing Partner at Acock Associates Architects. In addition to leading the practice, he has led numerous high profile projects in central Ohio. Notable is his role as design and criteria architect for the $376 million dollar re-envisioning of the North Residential Housing Campus at The Ohio State University. His skills range from management of large complex projects to smaller, more intimate and intricately detailed custom private residences.
Mitch’s design perspective blends fiscal awareness with required functionality, and a critical eye for aesthetic and contextual appropriateness. His solid foundation for these skills is based on a lifetime of exposure to the values of good architecture. His prior experience in working with a home builder lends a different perspective to the contracting, design and buildability aspects of our projects.
Additionally, Mitch brings a service approach to his work. He served on the Board of Trustees at the Columbus College of Art & Design and is an active member of the Knowlton School of Architecture’s Campaign Committee. He served as a Major in the Marine Corps and as an adjunct professor at OSU’s Knowlton School of Architecture.
Mitch earned his BA from Miami University, an MBA from Hood College, and a Master of Architecture from The Ohio State University.
In his free time, you’ll find Mitch with his family. He has been married to his wife Dana for 27 years and they have two sons, Christopher and Matthew.
